On this page you can read our case-stories of four companies which have chosen to place some of their activities on real estate owned and rent out, and in some cases we also helped construct the companies new buildings. The Port of Aalborg Ltd. is a transport centre close by rail, road and sea, and also help construct and rent our buildings that suits your needs.
Carlsberg Ltd. - Our Beer, Our Logistics
"From 1 september 2010 Carlsberg is optimising its supply of beer and other beverages to North Jutland. We do this from a newly built crossdocking terminal at the East Harbour. For years we have been looking for an alternative to our depot at Postmestervej and when the Port of Aalborg Ltd. gave us an offer we couldn't refuse - constructing a new Carlsberg cross-docking centre - which we then rented, things went fast.
There is a short distance from thought to action by the management at the Port of Aalborg Ltd. The cross-docking centre is 2,000 m2 with 6 meters to the ceiling. This gives room for transhipment of up to three module road trains at the same time - from module trains directly to our distribution trucks.

Logistics and flow means competitive strength for a large brewery such as Carlsberg. The location at the East Harbour is perfect. The entire area is approved for the large module road trains and is close to the highway. The proximity to the rail road system opens up perspectives for Carlsberg in the future.
- Bjarne Roost, Logistics Manager, Carlsberg Danmark Ltd.
It is the Port of Aalborg Ltd. that has constructed and now rents out Carlsbergs new cross-docking centre at Rørdalsvej in Aalborg.
Weber - A New Lid on the Grill
Weber-Stephen Nordic have in just 10 years doubled their turnover 15 times to 450 mio. DKK. And is simply grown out of the warehouse capacity which they had in Nørresundby. After a long search we found 430,000 square meters at the East Harbour. It is the perfect location with opportunity for future growth and close by our good cooperation partner Blue Water.
With the first stage of the construction done Weber-Stephen Nordic is now ready for the forthcoming grill season. Starting 2011 the centers capacity will be able to handle and distribute 250,000 grills for Denmark, Norway, Finland and the Baltics.
When George Stephen in 1952 invented the Weber grill the idea behind the success was the principle of hot air. He created a grill which worked - and still works - as a convection oven and with a lot of possibilities enthralls people all over the world. At the Port of Aalborg we have never experienced hot air. At this Port there is action behind the words - they even moved a road, so that our access possibilities was optimal.
- Michael Jensen, Managing Director, Weber-Stephen Nordic
It is the policy of Weber-Stephen Nordic not to own buildings. The company has also chosen to outsource distribution to NDC, who takes care of handling and distributing Weber- Stephen Nordic products. And that, they are now able to do from the new 12,000 m2 distribution center at the East Harbour.
Siemens - private road to the quay "Series manufacture of wind turbine blades of up to 58.5 meters sets extreme demands on logistics and infrastructure. Therefore Siemens Wind Power chose to place to place our blade-factory at the East Harbour in Aalborg - close to both freeway and quay.
Nonetheless the transport was problematic and expensive. There is only 1.5 kilometres but loading a wind turbine blade on a truck is not just a question about expenses - but also about safety. The Port of Aalborg Ltd. have constructed a private road for us. Away from public roads we now take care of blade transportation by wheel loader and two-wheeled chariot.
And that in a tempo where a good flow can fill up a ship without transshipment and storage space near the quay. The blade-road is a good example of how Siemens Wind Power cooperate with the Port of Aalborg Ltd. Here we are always met with professionals, who know the rules of the game and, popular speaking, how to move forward and get things done, in a resultoriented partnership." - Søren Kringelholt, Managing Director for Wing productionen, Siemens Wind Power A/S
Siemens Wind Power A/S cooperation includes both purchased and rented areas. An option for additional squaremetres matches Siemens future expectations of trippeling blade production at the East Harbour. |
Royal Arctic in a new multihouse "Royal Arctic Logistics A/S, which is a merger between ACO A/S and Royal Arctic Linieagentur A/S, have always had close ties to the Port of Aalborg Ltd. And the cooperation is still going strong.
In a new basis harbour agreement valid untill 2022 the Port of Aalborg Ltd. confirms the good relations by investing an additional 250 mio. DKK in new, modern facilities for Royal Arctic Logistics A/S. Including a new build - a gigantic multihouse - which gathers and integrates all Royal Arctic Logistics A/S' activities. This is in line with our ambitions of increasing effectiveness and expanding businessareas as well as customer base.
The construction includes, among other things, a 4-storey administration, 5,200 m2 warehouse hotel. Today, about 80 % of our activities have relation to Greenland. In the future we want to focus even more on the tasks, which does not directly have something to do with Greenland. Because the better we are at taking advantage of our potential, the better results we create for ourselves and our owners in Greenland." - Jesper Balthazar-Christensen, Managing Director, Royal Arctic Logistics A/S
It is the Port of Aalborg Ltd, which constructs and rents out the multihouse at Vejdybet to Royal Arctic Logistics A/S. Meanwhile cooling and freezing facilities are expanded. The multihouse was taking in to commission during February 2012. |
